Sweeney Todd Audition Information
Auditions for Sweeney Todd—the play, not the musical—will be August 23 and 25 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Theatre. Performances will be the last two weekends in October.


2010-2011 Season Set
The 2010-2011 Season has been set and will include performances of Camelot, Sweeney Todd: Demon Barber of Fleet Street, A Christmas Story, and a Spring show to be announced. Click here for more details.

Summer News Items
Due to the numerous exciting things happening at LTB, there are many items of interested to report. Make note of each one, as you don't want to miss any of these exciting events:

  • 2010 Drama Camp
  • Children 7 and older are invited to attend.

    Cost is $60 per participant. Cost includes Lunch, snacks, and supplies. Discounts are available for families enrolling more than one child or those attending both Drama and Director's camps.

    Children will learn the art of acting through a Musical written by Mrs. Becky Mundy & Mrs. Penny May.

    Camp Hours: Monday, June 14 - Friday, June 18.
    8:30 A.M.-4:00 P.M.
    Performance of Mr. Grump's Great Triumph! will be Friday at 5:30 P.M.

  • 2010 Director's Camp
  • Attention, moms and dads. Is there a drama queen or king in your house? Or maybe a son or daughter with a gift for creative writing?

    Cost is $60 and includes snacks and lunch.

    Director’s Camp meets June 21-24 from 8:30 A.M.-4:00 P.M. and is for kids ages 10 and up.

    It’s not necessary to have been in a play before to attend the Director’s Camp, but first-timers may want to attend the Drama Camp if they’ve never been in a play so they can experience rehearsals and a performance.

    Kids are welcome to attend both camps if they meet the age recommendations. A price break is available for attending both camps. Kids should wear comfortable clothes. May and Ana Rynders are camp directors.

  • Camelot Callbacks
  • Director Kay Collins wants a Callback for those who are being considered for parts in Camelot. She will meet with you on Thursday, April 29, at 6:30 P.M., in the theater, 1704 Brian Lane Way. Singer/Actors who wish to be considered for the part of "Lancelot" should call the theater, (812) 279-3009, and leave your name and telephone number. You WILL be called back.

  • Express Success
  • Little Nashville Express Band's first appearance at Little Theatre was a sellout success. We are now taking reservations for their next appearances -- (812) 279-3009 or ltb.org -- on Friday, May 14, and Friday, May 21, both at 8:00 P.M. At the same time, we are offering reservations for the extremely talented and popular singing group, Forever Gold (hits of the 60's and 70's) on Saturday, May 15, and Saturday, May 22. If you reply by ltb.org e-mail, be sure to include your telephone number so we can confirm your reservations. These appearances are covered by Little Theatre's Patron and Season Membership ticket programs.

  • Celebrating 50 Years
  • Invitations to make reservations for our "50 Years of Golden Memories, 1960 - 2010" celebration banquet went out in the mail. We need the RSVPs by May 17, 2010 (call (812) 279-3009 or contact us through ltb.org, please include your telephone number). We only have a maximum of 125 available seats, and it will break our hearts if we have to turn away special, old friends of Little Theatre. Plans for our special 50th anniversary celebration include the following activities:

    On Friday, June 11, at 7:00 P.M., at the theatre, 1704 Brian Lane Way, we hold our annual, season-ending Studio Meeting. All current Patrons and adult Season Ticket holders are invited to attend for the President's and Treasurer's Reports, and the election of three new board of directors members. This year, we are losing Sheryl Siedl, our present Secretary; Penny May, the chairman of the 50th celebration committee; and Brad Mason. After the business meeting on June 11, starting at 8:00, we will host an Open House for returning Little Theatre veterans and friends. Light refreshments will be served, and board member Kathryn Henderson will perform "I'M HERBERT" with support from Little Theatre veteran Steve Gorman. Everyone is welcome!

    Saturday, June 12, at 6:30 PM, Comfort Inn, 911 Constitution Avenue (corner of SR 37 and John Williams Boulevard) will be the 50th Anniverary Banquet. Out of town returnees are encouraged to reserve accommodations at the Comfort Inn (812-279-8111) or other local hotels or motels. It will be a wonderful night of Banqueting, Honors and Awards, and great entertainments organized by Penny May's committee and musical "impresario" David Morthland.

    Sunday, June 13, Little Theatre will host a "Kids of Little Theatre Picnic." More information about this event will be posted when it is available.


    Change to Current Season
    We regret to inform you that due to unforeseen circumstances, we were not able to complete the arrangements for Grease. Therefore, it has been withdrawn from this season's lineup of productions.

    In its place, we are offering our patrons and season ticket holders their choice: a performance by Forever Gold, or the Little Nashville Express Band. The Little Nashville Express Band, formerly the house band at the famed Little Nashville Opry, appears Friday, May 14, and Friday, May 21, at 8:00 P.M.; Forever Gold, the oldies band who performed the highly acclaimed Good Vibrations, appears Saturday, May 15, and Saturday, May 22, also at 8:00 P.M. Patrons and season ticket holders will be contacted by telephone for their reservation choices before the general public is served.

    The Little Nashville Express Band will also be appearing on Little Theatre's stage on Friday, April 23 at 8:00 P.M. Please call 812-279-0024 or 812-279-5909 for ticket information.

    The Best Christmas Pageant Ever Auditions
    Directed by: Nina Peterson. The comedy calls for four men and six women, and eight boys and nine girls ages 6-13. Auditions for adults will be Monday, October 26 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Auditions for children will be Tuesday, October 27 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Another audition time might be scheduled for those who can’t attend the others. Call 275-6422.


    The Legend of Sleepy Hollow Information
    Play dates for The Legend of Sleepy Hollow are October 16, 17, 18, 23, and 24. Evening shows are at 8:00 P.M., and the Sunday matinee is at 2:00 P.M. There will be games and family festivities outside the theatre for an hour before the show. Please call 279-3009 for tickets. Additionally, the LTB Membership Drive is underway.     The Legend of Sleepy Hollow Auditions
    Auditions for The Legend of Sleepy Hollow will be Monday, July 20, and Tuesday, July 21, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at Little Theatre. Director Cheri Barnes needs men, women, and a few school age children. The play will perform the first 2 weekends before Halloween in October, starting on October 16. The director is also looking for townspeople for the pre-show.

    Act 1 Writers' and Directors' Camp
    LTB will host the "Act 1 Writers' and Directors' Camp" on June 15, 16, and 17, from 8:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Invited to attend are youth ages 10-17 who have theatre experience but would like to learn more about theater production. The cost is $50 and will include lunch and snacks. A regular drama camp is planned for July.


    Quilters Auditions
    Quilters try-outs will on April 24th at 7:00 P.M. and April 27th at 7:00 P.M. at LTB. Cast in the show will be five or more women, ages high school through middle age. For the audition, please prepare a song and be ready to present cold Readings of the script. Rehearsals will start in early May. There will be seven weeks of rehearsals, and play dates will be at the end of June.


    Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat
    Little Theatre of Bedford, Lawrence County Concert Association and North Lawrence Community Schools bring you Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat to the BNL Performing Arts Center for three shows on Friday, January 30; Saturday, January 31 (both at 7:30 P.M.); and Sunday, February 1 (at 2 P.M.). This wonderful musical is family friendly and great for church groups. Tickets will be sold at the door at the PAC, or in advance at Copy Trolley, West End Flowers, The Bedford Chamber, Kats Performing Studio, and the Mitchell Ben Franklin. Adults—$10, Students & under—$7. Groups of 20+ receive a 20% discount.

    Joseph Auditions
    Auditions for Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will be on Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 23 & 24, from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M. at Schafer Auditorium. Full Rehearsals start in December (occasional in Oct. – Nov), and performances will be Jan. 30, 31 & Feb. 1, 2009. Needed are several men and women ages 16 & up, and children in grades 2 – 6. Children's Auditions will be on Monday, Sept. 22, from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Schafer Auditorium and again at Little Theatre on Wednesday, Sept. 24, 4:00 - 6:00 P.M. Children can sing “America the Beautiful," "Do Re Mi," or "Amazing Grace" for the audition. All parts are singing. Be prepared to sing songs from the play or bring material.     Keeper of the House Postponed
    Keeper of the House has been canceled for Aug. 15-17 and will be rescheduled later.


    Auditions for It's A Wonderful Life
    It's A Wonderful Life auditions will be held Tuesday, September 2; Wednesday, September 3; and Thursday, September 4, from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the theatre. Casting includes 12 Men, 10 women, 4 young boys ages 10-12 (varies), and 2 young girls ages 7-9 (varies). Tentative play dates are the second and third weekends in November.     Coming Events at LTB
    We have many exciting events in which LTB will be involved in the coming months! Make sure to attend these exciting events:
  • Keeper of the House, by BNL's Maria Edwards, will be performed soon.
  • Oakland City's production of The Nerd will be performed Sept. 24, 25, and Oct. 1 and 2.
  • LTB's production of It's a Wonderful Life, directed by Stacey McCloud, will be performed on Nov. 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, and 21. Watch for tryouts.
  • LCCA's production of Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat will play at BNL's PAC on Jan 30, 31, and Feb. 1. Practices will be at LTB, Dec and Jan. Watch for tryouts.
  • LTB's production of Quilters, directed by Kate Henderson, will grace the stage on May 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17. Watch for tryouts.



  • Drama Camp 2008
    Little Theatre of Bedford is offering "Drama Camp 2008" on June 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 2008, from 8:30 A.M. to 4:00 P.M. Ages 8 to 17 are invited, and the cost is $75.00 each, ($50.00 for brothers or sisters). Lunch is included in the cost.
