Meet the Cast

Meet the Crew Behind the Magic!

  • Ashlyn has been a part of the theatre for over ten years. Some of her past performances include Little Red Ridinghood in Into the Woods and Mrs. Lovett in The Ballad of Sweeney Todd. She has also appeared in Beauty and the Beast, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and High School Musical, among others. Steel Magnolias will be Ashlyn's directorial debut.

  • Tammy has been involved in theatre for over fifteen years. Some of her past performances include Into the Woods as Cinderella’s Mother;  The Wizard of Oz as part of the Ensemble, and Fiddler on the Roof as Grandmother Tzeitel. She has also directed various other programs locally. Tammy is “Tickled Pink” to serve as the Assistant Director alongside my daughter, Ashlyn. Working with this cast has been an absolute joy!

  • Sierra has been with The Little Theatre of Bedford for fourteen years and has performed various roles in her tenure. Her most recent roles have included Stagehand for The Wizard of Oz(2012), Stage Manager for Southern Hospitality, Beauty and the Beast, Into the Woods, Shrek (BNL), Wizard of Oz, A Gift to Remember, Fiddler on the Roof, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Steel Magnolias. Sierra is currently a member of the Board of Directors here at the theatre, and this year I am serving as VP!

  • Ashley has been with The Little Theater of Bedford for 7 years. Her past performances include Elyse Jones in A Gift to Remember, Detective Plotnik in A Little Murder Never Hurt Anybody, and Renee in The Odd Couple (Female Version). When Ashley isn’t helping with a show, you can find her reading, crafting, or doing the fun aunt things.

  • Kels has been with the theatre intermittently for the last twenty-six years. Her roles have included everything from acting, costuming, directing, and backstage support. Kels has always loved the magic of storytelling, and theatre is a gratifying outlet for creativity. Everyone needs a passion, and the stage is a fountain of opportunity.

  • Ruth has been with the theater for the last four-ish years. Her past performances have included Glinda the Good Witch (kindergarten), Annabel Glick (Lucky Stiff - college), and a member of the ensemble in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Although Ruth misses her former life as a famous trapeze artist with a traveling circus, she is now content to train her honeybees, make fruit into wine, collect too many other hobbies, and keep two boy children alive. She would like to thank her husband, Justin, for letting her do what she wants.

  • Hannah has been involved in theatre for ten years, spending the most recent season with The Little Theatre of Bedford. Her past performances have included Sophie in Mamma Mia (Loogootee High School)   Wicked Witch in The Wizard of Oz (Loogootee High School) Gingy/Teen Fiona/Bluebird in Shrek the Musical(Loogootee High School), Marcy Parks in 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (North Daviess High School), Ensemble - Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat/Sweeney Todd (Little Theatre of Bedford) among other shows. Hannah is so excited to be back at the theatre and helping with such a fun show!

Steel Magnolias

by Robert Harling

Directed by Ashlyn Taylor

From Broadway Licensing, Dramatist Play Service:

Concerned with a group of gossipy southern ladies in a small-town beauty parlor, the play is alternately hilarious and touching—and, in the end, deeply revealing of the strength and purposefulness which underlies the antic banter of its characters.

“Harling has given his women sharp, funny dialogue…The play builds to a conclusion that is deeply moving.” —New York Daily News.

“…a skillfully crafted, lovingly evoked picture of eccentricity in the small-town South…Robert Harling is a new voice in the theatre and the qualities of STEEL MAGNOLIAS suggest he may be an important one.” —Drama-Logue.

“…suffused with humor and tinged with tragedy.” —New York Post.

“STEEL MAGNOLIAS is presented by special arrangement with Broadway Licensing, LLC, servicing the Dramatists Play Service collection. (www.dramatists.com)”
